The Feminine Code: Hormones, the Nervous System and Your Female Body Rhythms

A self-guided course to support your rhythmic female body in our linear world

COMING SOON

❤️

The hormonally female body is not linear. Your body is deeply, powerfully and beautifully rhythmic.

Healing shouldn’t be so complicated.

Healing your chronic stress, fatigue, burnout, anxiety, depression, hormonal issues, sleep problems and the other health issues popping up - it just shouldn’t have to be so hard.

Modern women go to countless doctor’s visits and get blood tests with no answers, have pantries full of supplements, try avoidance diets that have them living like a monk, sweat through intense exercise regimens even when they’re exhausted, try meditations and yoga classes - and still struggle to find sustainable relief.

I’ve been there, and so have the majority of the women who have come to me during the past 15 years.

I’ve spoken with countless women who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, stressed out, anxious, depressed, sleepless, overworked, and dealing with physical and emotional pain.

Maybe you feel frustrated when traditional Western or holistic practices don’t bring relief. You feel like you’ve tried everything. You’re doing all the right things but still don’t feel great. Maybe you feel stuck, unseen, and unsupported.

Here’s the issue with so much of the wellness info out there: You can’t put a bandaid on a deep wound and expect it to heal.

The reason so many women are sick is because we have forgotten our female body design.

We have forgotten how we access our power, health and creative life force. We can’t use superficial cures to heal the dis-ease of suppressing our female body’s needs while living in a world designed for the hormonally male body.

Your hormonally female body is not linear. You are deeply, powerfully and beautifully rhythmic. ❤️

Your nervous system capacity and your body’s needs shift throughout the day, during your monthly menstrual cycle, during the seasons of year and during the seasons of your life. Your vitality, creativity and power can be harnessed by flowing with them rather than overriding them.

But our modern world and medicine have been designed around the more linear biology of the hormonally male body.

To access resources and power and live in our modern world, women have learned to override and disconnect from our innate rhythms.

All around us we hear the messaging or beliefs (maybe even our own) that those cycles and rhythms are a hindrance and make us weak. This has forced so many women to suppress their body’s needs and run on stress energy, rather than Source energy.

Fueling our lives with stress energy has had a catastrophic impact on women’s health.

Some startling statistics give us a glimpse into the state of women’s health in the US

80% of people with autoimmune disorders are women (NIH)

45% of women over age 20 have high blood pressure (CDC)

1 in 4 women between the ages of 40-60 are on antidepressants in the US (CDC)

Women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder (NIH)

We collectively accept this as normal, or even natural…but it’s not.

We can either look at these statistics and determine women’s bodies are inherently broken, or we can recognize that something is deeply off about how we’re living - and women’s bodies in particular reflect that pathology.

But suffering is not our default.

🌙 The hormonally female body is the real world manifestation of the creative potential of nature. 🌎🌱

And we tap into that power through honoring our female body rhythms, NOT by pathologizing or suppressing them. We honor these rhythms through lifestyle, nutrition, nervous system regulation and other self-care rituals.

There is a much better way - one in which you can understand and flow with your body’s innate rhythms, move out of chronic stress, access deep vitality, health and creativity, and support greater nervous system regulation.

The root cause of the vast majority of women’s health issues is doing more than our system has the capacity for, coupled with not enough physical and emotional nourishment and rest. This causes stress. Stress causes our body to release stress hormones, which deplete our body, cascade though our endocrine system and rob us of the nourishing, sex hormones we need to be healthy and whole.

So we can either play whack-a-mole with all the symptoms that result from this dynamic OR…we can get to the root of it.

🌸 But we need to understand the unique design of the female nervous system.

🌸 We need to understand the emotional signposts of stress and nervous system dysregulation.

🌸 We need to understand our female hormones, how stress impacts them and the symptoms that result from imbalance.

🌸 And we need to know the most effective ways to nourish our body and build greater capacity so we don’t feel so collectively and chronically stressed.

Enter: Mother Nature - the Great Nervous System Regulator

The ancients understood that our human body is a reflection of Nature. We are ideally designed to support our life force by living in alignment with nature’s rhythms - like our circadian and seasonal rhythms.

When we do this, we flow with the current rather than against it. We allow life force to flow through us to create the life we want and to live our purpose, rather than source our energy from stress.

The female body has four foundational rhythms - daily, monthly, seasonal and life stages.

Ayurveda gives us a very clear way to understand how our body’s energetics change throughout these phases, and how to support ourselves so that we live from Source energy rather than stress energy.

But even in my years of studying Ayurveda and yoga, we weren’t taught this. Even in these traditional practices, the male body is the norm.

We were taught how to manage disease when it emerges, but not how to tend to the unique rhythmic needs of the hormonally female body.

There’s a huge piece of the puzzle missing for so many women. And that’s why I created The Feminine Code.

I'm Courtney LaCava

And my story isn’t unique.

Before finding Ayurveda I felt like a split personality. A true achiever, I was striving for “perfection” while feeling like a fragmented outsider on the inside.

When I was young I was super driven - state champion swimmer, class president, top of my class, team captain. I pushed and pushed to constantly be climbing higher, all the while masking the emotional and physical rollercoaster my body was on each month.

I thought I was too emotional, too sensitive and weak, so I found ways to keep going, keep doing, keep overriding my body’s signals that something was off.

I started to get more and more exhausted in my 20s, trying to "save the world" through social work. The final straw was two intense and stressful years of grad school. After graduation I collapsed. I was so exhausted I couldn’t even practice yoga the way I had before. My digestion and skin were a wreck. I could barely walk a block down the street without wanting to cry from fatigue. I was isolated, anxious and depressed.

A year later I was well enough to join a yoga teacher training. A woman came to teach us about Ayurveda.

The proverbial heavens opened for me.

Someone was explaining life and healing in a way that made so much intuitive and logical sense. I had my first Ayurvedic consultation. After years of trying to figure out why I was sick, someone finally told me, "This all makes sense and you can heal the root of this." I finally had answers.

I cooked the simple recipes she gave me. I took herbs to strengthen my digestion and calm my mind. And my whole being let out a huge sigh of relief. The only way I can describe it is a deep, systemic release of finally feeling nourished. My body, mind and spirit were receiving exactly what it needed. The way forward - personally and professionally - suddenly became clear to me and I began studying Ayurveda formally.

Through those life-changing years of studying to become an Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner, I reclaimed my health and power. But despite all these years of Ayurvedic study, there was still something missing.

In 2012 I began a mentorship program with Dr. Claudia Welch and learned about hormones through the lens of eastern medicine and it revolutionized my practice.

In 2013 I gave birth to my first child, and that completely redefined my relationship to my body, my healing, my marriage and how I perceive the world. I realized the state of women’s health has so much to do with the context of our lives and the pathology of our culture. Yes, healing is individual. But it was also collective. And I knew I couldn’t talk about women’s health if I didn’t also talk about culture, our relationship to each other, and the wisdom we have forgotten.

Years later, I began studying the nervous system and somatics with Kimberly Ann Johnson. Understanding the female nervous system and how this plays a role in stress and hormone health filled in a missing piece of the puzzle.

I think my most important “credential” is that I live what I teach. What I share I didn’t just learn from a book. It’s from living in the real world as a wife and mother, navigating the strains and complexity of modern womanhood. It’s from a deep inner knowing that I experience in my body and have guided many, many women to experience as well.

I truly believe this way is revolutionary.

It’s so personal. It’s also bigger than us. And we have so much more power than we realize. But we have to help it emerge.

The belief our value is determined by our productivity is deeply rooted in our cultural psyche. From childhood we get the message women’s pleasure and innate physiological connection to nature is a threat. We learn early on beauty is our greatest currency, with the bar always being shifted and raised. But we get big accolades when we push ourselves to excel at traditionally "masculine" achievements, often overriding our body’s needs to get there.

There are so many powerful internal and external forces that disconnect us from…

  • our pleasure
  • nature
  • our bodies
  • our wild wisdom
  • our nourishment
  • our rest

...our deepest desires and the sustained confidence and energy to make them a reality.

True healing is not just about eating the right foods and doing the right exercise. It’s about reclaiming our pleasure, our joy, our wild wisdom, our nourishment, our rest. It’s about living in rhythm with the cycles of nature so we can remove obstacles to our body’s incredible, innate healing intelligence. We learn what to value and embody it. When we do that, we can create relationships, families, communities and a world built on that truth.

We create the culture we feel in our bones because we live it.

I’d like to help you reclaim your health, reclaim your body and remember. I want every woman to tap into their vitality and power and thrive.

You feel like you’ve tried everything—countless therapies, restrictive diets, endless supplements—but the relief you seek still feels out of reach.

You feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from the vibrant, powerful woman within. Your body, your rhythm, and your innate wisdom are calling out for recognition, for support—yet all you hear is more noise and more ways to push yourself harder.

But what if healing doesn’t have to be so hard? What if the answers are already within you—just waiting to be reconnected, rediscovered, and embraced?

This course is for you if:

  • You’re tired of spinning your wheels with superficial fixes that don’t address the root causes.
  • You’re ready to understand and honor your body’s unique rhythms—daily, monthly, seasonal, and life phases.
  • You're willing to invest a little time each week in gentle, sustainable practices that empower your natural vitality.
  • You yearn to shed feelings of overwhelm, burnout, and hormonal chaos and step into a life of resilience and deep nourishment.
  • You believe that your health and happiness are worth prioritizing—and that lasting change is possible from the inside out.

This course may not be right for you if:

  • You’re looking for a quick fix without any commitment.
  • You prefer conventional medicine or quick pharmaceutical solutions over holistic, body-centered practices.
  • You’re not ready to explore the deeper patterns and rhythms that influence your health and vitality.

If you see yourself in the first group—if you’re ready to reclaim your power and embrace your natural rhythm—then The Feminine Code is here to guide you.

Imagine waking each day feeling energized, centered, and deeply connected to your authentic self. Picture navigating hormonal changes, stress, and daily life with grace and resilience, rooted in practices that nourish and support your innate vitality.

Your story is waiting to be rewritten—one where you live in harmony with your body’s rhythms and unlock the creative, vital energy that’s always been within you. Think of a life where you trust your intuition, prioritize your well-being, and feel empowered in your body’s natural design.

The journey begins with a single step. Are you ready to make that leap?
