Mothering Boys and the Nervous System:Â Raising Healthy Sons in a Chaotic World
Essential wisdom to nurture your boys, heal your body, and create the world you want to live in.

How do we mother our sons well?
How do we nurture our boys to have healthy bodies and minds?Â
How do we teach them to feel the power of their body and use it for good?Â
How do we help them channel healthy aggression rather than destructive rage?Â
How do we keep them from being preyed upon?
How do we help them stay connected in a world of increasing isolation?
How do we help them stay humane when hatred and violence is normalized through their screens?
How do we raise sons who are embodied, feel safe in connecting with others, and can find pleasure without harm?
And how do we do all this while tending to our own needs and not losing ourselves?
If you’re a mama overwhelmed by the state of the world, pendulating between anger and apathy, fear and resignation, you’re not alone. And you’re not powerless.
As mothers, we have the ability to create the world we want to live in, for ourselves and for our families. In fact, we have more power than anyone else to affect change at this moment in time. But we have to know how. And we have to start with our own body and nervous system. And, most of all, we can’t do it alone, and our boys can’t either.Â
We have to acknowledge the elephant in the room: so much of the violence we see flooding our newsfeeds is being perpetrated by men, and often young men. What we see are the extremes of nervous system dysregulation being played out in tragic form. To heal the root cause of our collective struggles, we need to address this at the source.
In “Mothering Boys & the Nervous System” I’ll discuss:
- How to help your boys feel more confident, connected and less stressed
- The emotional signposts of nervous system dysregulation
- Puberty, hormones and male social dynamics
- How to attend to dysregulation, in yourself and your sons
- How and why the Village, elders and rites of passage are so crucial for boys and the collective
- A deeper mothering wisdom beyond just child psychology and parenting tips
- How your own regulation and embodiment impacts your children
If you’re looking for a traditional “parenting” workshop where we only focus on the kids, child psychology and motherhood hacks (that just add more to your plate), this might not be for you.
If you want to learn how to nurture your sons in the way they most need it - though attending to your own nervous system and theirs - I really hope you’ll join me. Our sons need us, and the world needs us to commit to this path. Together. Now.
Register to learn about...
- Teaching your son(s) a healthy expression of masculine energy (and what the mother’s role is in that)
- Nervous system regulation techniques
- Fostering emotional resilience and community bonds
- Reclaiming the village and intergenerational wisdom
- Developing your own regulation, confidence and presence and why this is the most direct route to what you desire for your sons
In this workshop we’ll talk specifics about what you can begin doing now, and I’ll share a special offer to get you started.
As mothers, we are being called to take action in a new and revolutionary way. I am so hopeful. But we can’t do this alone. Will you join me?

Hi, I’m Courtney, and I believe mothers have the power to create the world we want to live in.
Our liberation comes through our bodies. We can remember on a deeply cellular level how to nourish life and foster our web of interdependence. Our modern world has disconnected from this wisdom, but we can reclaim it.
My first big wake-up call happened in my late 20s when I was sidelined by extreme chronic fatigue. Through it, I discovered Ayurveda. It gave me answers and practices to support my own vitality and healing, and a practical way to nourish and nurture my future family.
In 2013 my first son, Sam, was born and two years later, my son Archie. Like so many moms, I flourished…and I struggled. I felt like my boys’ needs and my own were at odds. I was willing to sacrifice, but feared losing myself in the ways so many women before me had.
I worried. Oh, how I worried! About my boys’ sleep, about their diet, about their emotions and socialization. And I worried about my and my husband’s responses to them when we weren’t at our best and most regulated.
At the height of the pandemic, I started working with Somatic Experiencing and the nervous system, and it took my practice and my mothering to a whole new level. I saw in real time how my nervous system states have a direct impact on my family and the rhythm of our lives. I supported my own nervous system and saw my boys’ behavior improve and our family become more in tune and cohesive. Although I always knew it subconsciously, I now understood in a practical way both the responsibility and power I have to nurture my sons’ highest potential.
One of my most important lessons in all of this is my need to be in community with other women on this evolutionary path. Women have healthier nervous systems when we’re in safe relationship with others. We’re wired for bonding. It’s not just a want, it's a biological imperative. We need each other so we can mother our boys well.
I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you’ll stay.
Much love,
